PRAISE AND PRAYER, SEPTEMBER, 2021

           

WEDNESDAY 1ST   Praise God for His enduring love and faithfulness throughout August, despite moments of despair, the Lord has kept us. Pray that in this new month the Lord will preserve us and show us his salvation in accordance with Psalms 91:16

THURSDAY 2ND   Praise God for safety in travels to various destinations by different teams in EMS to introduce the Golden Supporter Funding  Initiative and create more awareness on the work of missions. Pray that God will continue to protect us as the process continues.

FRIDAY 3RD   Praise God for raising two additional new supporters for EMS from Iddah and Kwoi DCCs, ask God to bless them abundantly as they partner with us in missions.

SATURDAY 4TH   Thank God for  continuously answering our prayers and for his provision, Rahab Jonathan Kapio has signed up to be an EMS supporter, likewise  the Women Leader from ECWA Good News Lokoja has donated clothes to some our missionaries. Ask the Lord to bless them abundantly.

SUNDAY 5TH Appreciate God for the progress of ongoing projects in Benin Republic Field and for support we got that enabled the engagement of two nationals of  Benin Republic as EMS of ECWA  missionaries in the country. Pray that God will use them mighty to advance his kingdom in the country.

NOTE:  EMS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY

FIRST (1ST) MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH IS TO BE OBSERVED INTERNATIONALLY AS EMS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY. THEREFORE, ALL EMS ARMS, MISSIONARIES, OFFICE STAFF, PRAYER PARTNERS AND SUPPORTERS SHOULD PLEASE ENDEAVOR TO JOIN THE EMS INTERNATIONAL HEAD OFFICE IN PRAYERS. WE JOIN FAITH AND TRUST GOD IN ONE ACCORD WITH BRETHREN AROUND THE WORLD FOR:

  • A STEADY AND FRUITFUL GROWTH OF THE WORK OF MISSIONS,
  • PEACE AND THE SALVATION OF NATIONS,
  • FOR REVIVAL AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF THE CHURCH.

OUR COOPERATE PRAYER TIME AT THE HEAD OFFICE IS 8-9AM, 12-1PM, AND 3-4 PM RESPECTIVELY. YOU CAN JOIN US IN PRAYERS WHEREVER YOU MAY BE AT THOSE TIMES OR MAKE OUT TIME OF YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE AS YOU ARE LED BY GOD. PLEASE, ENDEAVORE TO PRAY ALONG AS YOU FAST.

 MONDAY 6TH   Praise God for  Rev. Amane Bodering, the new Coordinator of the EMS of ECWA Togo, who is gradually adapting to the field in spite of the numerous challenges found on ground.

TUESDAY 7TH   Praise the Lord for the safety granted to Rev. John Tortuman and family on their return back to Nigeria after three years of service as Cross Borders missionaries in Ghana.                        

                             WEEK TWO – FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS  

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness Hebrews 3:13

WEDNESDAY 8TH Pray for God’s intervention concerning the attacks and killings by Jihadists/Fulani Militias which have been ramped up especially in Christian communities in Plateau and Benue States and in Southern Kaduna. Pray that the forces of evil will not prevail over God’s children.

THURSDAY 9TH   MID CENTRAL REGION: Fulanimilitias/Jihadists have continued to launch sustained attacks on Christian communities in Zonzon DCC and in some parts of Zonkwa and Damakasuwa. Recently over 70 people were killed, 350 houses were burned and over 150 hectares of cultivated farmlands were destroyed. About 10 churches and pastoriums have been razed down. Ask the Lord to intervene so and save his people from the menace of these murderers.

FRIDAY 10TH EMS MEDICAL UNIT: Praise God for, EMS has engaged three additional staff to serve in the unit, pray that there coming will make the unit more effective in the delivery of healthcare services to our missionaries and members of the public.

Pray for one of our staff, Mrs. Salome Haruna, who is still in recovery, ask  God to fast track her healing process. Pray also for other staff and their families who have been affected by the recent attacks for God’s provision and continuous protection.

SATURDAY 11TH EMS GOLDEN SUPPORTERS: Pray for safety and protection for the various teams scheduled to travel to various Regions and DCCs this month, in the ongoing EMS Golden Supporter Funding Initiative awareness. Ask the Lord to go ahead of these teams and prepare the hearts of people to accept and key into the initiative.

SUNDAY 12TH FAR NORTH REGION: Praise God the success of the mission outreach from Jigawa to Miya in Bauchi State, ask the Lord to water the seed of the gospel that has been sown.

There has been an outbreak Cholera in Katsina and Katsina South DCCs, pray that God will bring it to and end and heal the missionaries and there families that are suffering from various ailments.

 MONDAY 13TH FAR NORTH WEST REGION: Praise God for keeping our missionaries in the region safe  from harm even in the midst of the ongoing banditry and kidnappings that has bedeviled the region. Ask the Lord to bless our supporters and donors who have been tireless in their commitment to partner with us to advance the gospel in this region.                             

TUESDAY 14TH   NORTH WEST REGION: Praise God for answered prayers, our missionary Pastor Yunana Jika has been released by his abductors. Glory be to God. Pray 59 new converts recorded, ask the Lord to direct their lives and strengthen their faith in him.

                                   WEEK THREE – FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS

.In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.Romans 8:26 (NIV)

 WEDNESAY 15TH CENTRAL REGION: Praise God for healing some of our missionaries in Lokoja DCC that were ill. Ask the Lord to open doors for resources needed to complete building projects in some mission stations in the Region and to grant  comfort the Church at Odagbo in Lokoja DCC who lost three of their members.

THURSDAY 16TH EMS SCHOOLS: Pray for safety and protection for our students and staff in the  Field Mission and EMS Children Schools, from the new trend by criminal elements of abducting students for ransom. Pray that the students will take full advantage of the learning opportunities that have been made available to them.

FRIDAY 17TH   EMS TRAINING UNIT: Thank God for the successful training of missionaries in Pisabu, Kebbi State. Pray for more open doors to continue periodic training of missionaries and other staff  to better equip them for the great harvest of souls for God’s kingdom.

SATURDAY 18TH   SOUTH NORTH-WEST REGION: The Region is in need of more missionaries for a greater impact in missions. There is also the need for motorcycles to facilitate movement and coordination of mission engagements, ask the Lord to open doors to meet these crucial needs. Pray for God’s healing upon Mrs. Rahila Waziri, a missionary’s wife serving in Chori Bariki, in Kwoi DCC who has been ill for a long time now.

SUNDAY 19TH   NORTH EAST REGION: Praise God for the success of the EMS Golden Supporter awareness in some DCCs in the Region, pray that the awareness created will yield the desirable results for the progress of the work of missions.

Pray for Bara Prayer house in Yobe DCC, for   God’s protection against attacks from Boko Haram insurgents and for a Lam Bodaji a new Prayer house in Tangale DCC that is in need of safe drinking water, a church auditorium as well as a pastorium. Ask Lord to open doors for the resources needed to meet these crucial needs.

MONDAY 20TH   MID EAST REGION: 78 persons have given their lives to Christ, ask the Lord to uphold them in the faith. Pray that the DCCs executives and pastors in the Region will give their full support to the EMS Golden Supporter Funding Initiative in their churches. Pray for divine comfort and grace to the entire Akwanga DCC for the lost of Rev. Dr. D.B Waya who was one of the ECWA trustees.

TUESDAY 21ST    MID CENTRAL REGION:  In the midst of the challenges we are facing in the Region, our missionaries have shared the gospel with over 1,4000 persons out of which 27 gave their lives to Christ and 120 rededicated their commitment to God. Ask the Lord to nurture them into spiritual growth.

                  WEEK FOUR– FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME  AND CROSS- BORDERS MISSION FIELDS

And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. James 5:15

WEDNESDAY 22ND   SOUTH EAST REGION: Thank God encouraging reports about progress in missions from our mission stations  the Region. Lokpa prayer group is negotiate for a piece of land for a permanent site, ask God to lead the way and grant them favor in the negotiations. Ask God to raise more supporters for the work of missions in the Region and for the continuous commitment of the supporters who are already partnering with us in the work of missions.

THURSDAY 23RD    SOUTH NORTH-EAST REGION: Praise God for the new converts that were won for Christ this month. Pray that their faith in will establishing firmly in him. Ask the Lord to grant healing to some of our missionaries who are having health challenges.

Ask the Lord to raise more supporters for the Region so that the work of saving souls for the kingdom will be consolidated. Sometimes we are unable to pay our missionaries due to this, but thankfully the EMS Management always intervenes.

FRIDAY 24TH   BENIN REPUBLIC: Pray for the church in Godomey, which need good strategies to maintain growth in view the present changes. Pray also for Porto Novo field as it works towards how reviving the church after relocating to the permanent site.

Pray for the provision of a projector for the ministry of EMS of ECWA Benin Republic field.

 SATURDAY 25TH BURKINA FASO: Thank God for his grace and sustenance and for the progress of the ministry here in Burkina Faso.

Appreciate God for open doors to employment of two nationals of Burkina Faso to facilitate the work of spreading the gospel in the country.

 James is Pastor Stephen’s contact, towards starting a church in one of the areas in Burkina Faso, pray for more commitment from him. Ask the Lord to use him as a stepping stone towards the realization of this objective.

 SUNDAY 26TH  THE GAMBIA: Praise God for his sustaining grace upon all our missionaries in The Gambia.

The three  mission vehicles (an 18 sitter bus,  a Golf 3 Volkswagen car and a  Toyota Hilux truck) have all broken down and have been out of use for quite a long time. They  need to be repaired and be put back to use to enable them meet up with mission demands in the country . Ask the Lord to grant opening for these vehicles to be repaired as soon as possible

 MONDAY 27TH   ZAMBIA: There has been significant progress in the work EMS of ECWA in Zambia, thank God for what He is doing. Appreciate God for the healing of Rev. Yusuf Kuzasuwat who was critically ill, but doing very much better now.

 TUESDAY 28TH  2NIGER REPUBLIC:    Praise God for the employment of two nationals of Niger Republic as EMS of ECWA missionaries. Pray that that they will be committed to the work and yield themselves to be used by God.

Pray for direction for EMS Head Management as they embark on evaluation of national missionaries in Niger Republic who are working with SIM related churches under the payroll of EMS.

WEDNESDAY 29TH The ECWA Ghana headquarters land case is in court. Pray also that the lawyer handling the land  case in court will be committed to his work as he has promised and that in the end God will grant us success to have the land back without any complications.

 THURSDAY 30TH TOGO: Thank God for protecting and sustaining the lives of our missionaries in these trying moment and for providing for their needs and helping them overcome challenges faced on their various fields. Ask the Lord to work in the hearts of those that our missionaries preached the gospel to and cause them to see the light of his salvation.
